How the world celebrate New Year

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

It is pretty funny that the Western culture is always a reverse of the Eastern one.

To prove this, I take an example of New Year and Christmas. As you know, in here, America, we spend Christmas time for family that most at home, while New Year to go out on the street. It is different with Eastern culture. There, they celebrate Christmas with friends on the crowded avenues while stay at home with family during the Lunar New Year.

It all can be explained by taking a look on religion. In the West, we worship Jesus, there for the birth of Jesus is important. While in the East, they worship the physical sun (God) and new year is a fresh new start of the earth round, it is meaningful to the East.

And everything significant will be celebrated with families.

The crisis of American shallow knowledge but arrogance

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

I have just stumbled on the Internet and found this sh*t. Many thoughts mix in my opinion.

First of all, our society really has some problems with education. As Asians worship educators and learners, we tend to worship businessmen and entertainers followed by consumerism. Therefore, we don’t like to have fun rather than understand the world and functions of mind. Americans are weak in this side.

Take a look as this statistic:
Income comparision by race

That is what I’m talking about. With the underestimation of education, white American is beginning to lack behind and let Asian to rise with their wisdom. And yet, without knowledge of human mind, we can’t teach and guide our own children. Let’s go back to school guys, don’t enjoy more fun and spend more money on sh*t we don’t need, man. It is all going down if we don’t have deep understanding about the world and ourselves.

The second thought is that, not all Americans are stupid like in the video. I felt insulted, thou. But, after all, we do have problems with this side of the topic. And the whole country is going down with it.

The world is still transforming

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

I have just got the Sony PRS-700 today, and I am absolutely excited having it. Thus, it strike on my mind alarming that our physical world is step-by-step transforming into a digital one.

Nowadays, everything is possible as our tasks are all packed in small little devices that we call “gadgets.” Work has been being brought into small mobile laptops and delivered to mobile phones. In the very close future, tons of books and papers will be compressed into a little device so call “ebook readers.” The one I’m having is quite impressive. You can touch on the screen and do many tasks as you wish such as turn the page, highlight or even search words and terms. The Reader also has backlight so that you can read in a dark room. Worthily, this $400 reader, which sounds kinda expensive, but can be balanced up with free newspaper download on the internet.

As natural, new device begins new battles on the market. 30 years ago, Microsoft and Apple was fighting with small firms to dominate the consumers. Today, many reading devices with e-ink technology are being produced include Amazon Kindle, Irex Iliad and Plastic Reading from Logic Plastic coming this January. No one seems to dominate this chaos game yet, as the Green Revolution is quite new, Amazon and Kindle is leading but meeting many threats.

Last word, I’m very happy to see these stuff coming out to the market in which way can save forests and space.

My impression on Obama keeping his eyes on Gaza

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

Announcing “there is only one president at a time,” and he is now George Bush, Obama still has his own responsibility for the nation and his later president seat.

It is the tension in the messy Middle East that has been catching attention of this elect-president. Although, there is nothing he can do with the conflict at this time, but Obama is still monitoring this area and keeping track death tolls and stories from Gaza. Last Saturday, he had a meeting with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice about the violence the Gaza strips. Thus, he usually initiated call to this lady to ask for information of the tension.

Obama’s purpose on this is that he want to get the full image of the issue by the time he get into the White House on 20 January. The more I hear about Obama, the more I feel impressive and trust in this man. He always has plan, he always look further and he is always sober. That is the man who we need for this going down state of our nation.

However, I’m seeking to understand why conflicts locate at Gaza. Anyone who knows please reply a comment. Thanks.

Can Communism helps nations to reach the wealth?

Published by tuannguyen under Ideas Edit This

Yes, we can. National ideologies are just like our human personalitires. Sucess of each is that how one can reach his goals of life. Since the purpose of Communism and Capitialism are different, each has its own way to claim the wealth.

Oddly, Communism was created by Lenin in Russia, but it has the same traits as the ancient China’s imperial system. The Chinese has been familiar with this idea for 3000 years, which way explains the do-so-well economy of the modern China under the Mao version of Communism. Let me reveal to you the ancient Cathay’s prosperity to understand more about the commune system.

While the US with Captalism forming the pop culture worships wealthy investors and entertainment talents, the society of ancient China respected the wise and educated people. Actually, they didn’t trust who owned much, but sought for men who were willing to solve people’s relationship tension, helping other to overcome their problems and guiding them to reach greater spiritual lives of happiness. Don’t get me wrong, here. This kind of lifestyle was not an excuse for poverty at all. Instead, China had been the richest civilization before the political crisis in 18th century. They owned “gadgets” and enjoyed novel industry that other nations couldn’t catch up with. The empire also had fierce armies with great weapons and shrewd scholars who mastered strategies and tactics. Regardless how rich they were, the China society looked down on money. The man who reach the top of the social ladder is the one who worked for the imperial and spent time using his educated wisdom to seek for the solution, theories and projects that help the nation to soar. It was not how much he owned to be recognized, but the record of how much he delivered to the community was the factor that counted.

Accusing Communism for years, American hasn’t understand bit of the sytem and the culture. The point of Capitalism is to accumulate for individual while Communism people try to deliver to the community. Children under this government system must be educated to share with other and work for the goodness of the nation. That is the only way to help a Communism nation sucess. The failure of former Communist nations was because of their lack of understanding in Communist, while China leaders understand its similarity with their former ancient system and have been making good use on it.

This is a sad Christmas

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

Christmas Eve, I smiled, though. As family got together, I was happy. But I worry for my uncles, my parents and other people out there on the street submerged in layers of snow, too.

Yes, it is a sad Christmas to the whole America. Oregon is facing the peak of quicked weather with the first time snow storm since 1800s, thus cities in this state suffered electricity cut for weeks. Imagine how you live, eat and work with this situation. It is exactly like living in prison cells.

But, the ones I worry the most are my uncles and parents. During the time we cheer for the holiday (a little bit disappointed with less valuable gifts,) they have to smile with a tacit irritation of paying debt and seeking for jobs. Some say this Christmas is a spirtual one as family member give each other a romantic massage rather than an expensive ring set; that sounds good, but harm the economy. Christmas sell this year dropped from $556 million last year down to  $485 million this year. Those who has invested stock in these retail companies have lost part of their investment. Thus, failure in sell might lead to greater unemployment in order to cut expense.

Well, this Christmas is cold and dim, but I hope everyone seek for a gift in their heart healing for the crisis they have been suffered. Let’s love unconditionally.

Merry Christmas to who need Happiness

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

As Christmas is coming in couple of hours, there will be families open gifts and sing carol songs. I’m glad for them, but this greet is to thousands of people who have lost their jobs and houses during the last several quicked months.

80,000 employees were jobless in March as the Labor Department stated. Nov 17, Citigroup announced a news that schocked the media stating a 53,000 job cut to reduce expense for thecompany. AIA, Wamu, Lehman Brothers were out of business letting thousands of people suffer the same thing. Furthermore, stocks fell, houses market went down and several giant banks collapsed; this led a crisis that many lost their investment transforming them from wealthy stock owners to debt payers.

And yet, Christmas can’t be fun without gift. That is how people show love to each other. Well, hold that thought. This Christmas, there will be more spiritual presents than material ones. Husbands will give their wives massages, while the ladies will spend time at home to cook good meals. We ran out of cash to buy expensive gifts. An even more dangerous threat is that the words “Made in China” appears from toys, dress to even home decoration. This phrase has become the symbol of the US losing power and shifting jobs to China, which action promotes more job cut.

This will be still a cold Christmas, but darker than ever; and the red of the holiday will blend into the red of Communist China product. The green color represents the Green Revolution that the US is facing a hard time to catch up giving way to the failure of the Big Three. Overall, this is a simple and sad Christmas for the United States of America.

As I am sad and everybody else, I wish you all having a holiday that love engulves ourselves rather than material goods, and I hope that Obama have the ability to be Santa Clause for this long depressed holiday (as many people can’t go to work)

My love,
Tuaninside

China won the war on sex?

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

Providing human indulgence is a big profit, therefore porn provides a big income everywhere it comes. To the East, it against the culture.

There is reasons for the argument that porn is bad. As scientist says, practicing sex is a part of relieving stress; however, freedom of sex ruin a culture, which is the foundation for a civilization. Pornography is the part of freedom of sex. It leads to family divorces, which factor leads to the formation of crimes and the decrease in human motivation in an economy. Porn destroys a culture, which case gives way to the collapse of an economy.

I have two examples. The first is the Rome civilization; the collapse of it was because of the break down in family values and the freedom of practicing sex. The second comes from my roommate, he has divorced twice due to watching Internet porn too much. Now, he is as poor and depressed as hell.

However, did the Communist won the game. Porns are unofficially sold everywhere on the China market. What the government has done is just the surface of the issue. The core is still there and seems inevitable. Who can control the flow of its. The war is still going until the control on the flow is better with the future reduction on corruption and future development in technology.

Bailing out the Big Three is like dumping Cash to the Big Trash!

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

Thanks goodness, the Big Three only share a piece of $17 billion comparing with the $300 billion rescuing the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. As comparing to an economy and the assets these corporation own, $17bn is nothing at all.

Despite how much funds the Federal support these companies, it won’t help them. Luckily, these funds might save these giants for several months to provide jobs for workers and middle classes through the coming depression, but the disaster will be there only if the companies change their method of production.

The threats are Toyota and Honda, plus the coming Chinese automobiles market.

If we make a research on the auto market in the world, the US production on this industry has no position at all. Technology, safety and style will go to German cars; while environment-friendly and economic characteristics must belong to the Japanese ones. American cars are nominated for cheap material and gas-guzzling.

Last month, I was in a try out for a new Dodge Caliber. It had been the car I had dreamed of until the first touch on the door. It was all fragile inside from the seat to the dashboard. As for the Japanese Honda Fit or the Civic, the dashboard is totally well-made and very detailed; while the one put on the Caliber is like a piece of plastic that you can see in Chinese toy sold on a street-market. For the same price comparing this with the Civic, the Caliber gives a worse quality in all and a greater usage on oil. Guess who gonna buy the Caliber? Patriots. Well, I don’t think people will spend their money to buy shit just to save the US economy, plus the population of patriots is a countable figure, which has no impact on the economy.

The Japanese has been the one leading the future of auto market. They have been stressing on the Green Technology with the production of Prius Hybrid and the revival Honda Insight 2009. They have been preparing the battle for years, while the Big Three has done nothing but been producing more and more so-called “muscle cars.”

Therefore, the Big Three has lost the game by far. The Fed, especially Bush, should know that no matter how much money invest into these Big Trash; it will have no return; because the order of the game has already been set.
