This is a sad Christmas

Published by tuannguyen at 8:51 pm under Opinion Edit This

Christmas Eve, I smiled, though. As family got together, I was happy. But I worry for my uncles, my parents and other people out there on the street submerged in layers of snow, too.

Yes, it is a sad Christmas to the whole America. Oregon is facing the peak of quicked weather with the first time snow storm since 1800s, thus cities in this state suffered electricity cut for weeks. Imagine how you live, eat and work with this situation. It is exactly like living in prison cells.

But, the ones I worry the most are my uncles and parents. During the time we cheer for the holiday (a little bit disappointed with less valuable gifts,) they have to smile with a tacit irritation of paying debt and seeking for jobs. Some say this Christmas is a spirtual one as family member give each other a romantic massage rather than an expensive ring set; that sounds good, but harm the economy. Christmas sell this year dropped from $556 million last year down to  $485 million this year. Those who has invested stock in these retail companies have lost part of their investment. Thus, failure in sell might lead to greater unemployment in order to cut expense.

Well, this Christmas is cold and dim, but I hope everyone seek for a gift in their heart healing for the crisis they have been suffered. Let’s love unconditionally.
