How the world celebrate New Year

Published by tuannguyen under Opinion Edit This

It is pretty funny that the Western culture is always a reverse of the Eastern one.

To prove this, I take an example of New Year and Christmas. As you know, in here, America, we spend Christmas time for family that most at home, while New Year to go out on the street. It is different with Eastern culture. There, they celebrate Christmas with friends on the crowded avenues while stay at home with family during the Lunar New Year.

It all can be explained by taking a look on religion. In the West, we worship Jesus, there for the birth of Jesus is important. While in the East, they worship the physical sun (God) and new year is a fresh new start of the earth round, it is meaningful to the East.

And everything significant will be celebrated with families.
